Ray Tellier Midget Football League
West Haven Pop Warner
Veteran's Field 91 Bull Hill Lane, West Haven CT
The Ray Tellier Midget Football League of West Haven was founded in 1966, as an independent city league, fielding six teams, serving West Haven youths between the ages of 11-13. The league is named after the late Ray Tellier, who was a long time coach and athletic director at Notre Dame High School located in West Haven. Ray Tellier was a founder and active supporter of the league. In 1986, the Ray Tellier Midget Football League joined the Southern Connecticut Pop Warner Football Conference and competes against 15 other towns.
The league fields five tackle football teams, and cheerleading teams on five different levels; The Mighty Mite, Jr. Peewee, Peewee, Junior Midget , and Midget. In 2005 our program established a Flag Football program for 5 and 6 year olds and its immediate success was instrumental and led the way for a flag football division in the Southern Connecticut Conference. The Ray Tellier Midget Football League serves West Haven youths between the ages of 5 and 15. The league, as it did in 1966, stresses fundamentals, sportsmanship, responsibility, teamwork and most importantly wants our participants to enjoy playing the sport of football and spirit of cheerleading.
